Over Navajo country

These are Lidar scans and displaced in Maya with Vray renderer.
This Monument Valley (Arizona/Utah) map is 23427 X 20040 in resolution
32 bit depth, it covers about 12x14 miles of this incredible landscape.
Beyond that there’s a wider map from the space shuttle SRTM I stitched back in 2012 and
it covers 43 miles you see in the distant horizon.
In Maya I layered all the shaders into a Blend material and tried to follow as close as possible the natural palette of this amazing landscape comparing it to Google Earth. My camera is very close to some of the rock formations and obviously artifacts and lack of details can be spotted and I did not Photoshop anything out, ideally is not meant to be used in such proximity to the surface but I wanted to know how far I could push it. The A-10 and the Boeing P12 airplanes were not modeled by me, only the Electra 12A.

I had to do the Delorean.

I had to do the Delorean.
