Soon after The Last Jedi , Rick went to do another
collaboration with director Tim Burton and gathered a great team of artists in London for his art department but also
worked remotely with a few other artists here in the US.
I am always inspired by Rick's imaginative designs and confidence in which he leads his art team, often carried from production to production .
We used 3D extensively back and forth with the set designers in London to work out the film sets dimensions under some budget restrictions that kept shrinking .
I admire how he managed to still deliver grand and splendid designs on screen under these limitations.
This work was also particularly challenging; there is a high level of expectation when working with someone like director Tim Burton's, who has a very unique and sophisticated visual sensibility.
